When I have an appointment in Boulder, which happens about once a month, the boys and I always make a morning of it and make sure to see the mountains up close. This time though, Isaac hadn't seemed that excited about a picnic, so I didn't make any lunch. But on the way to my appointment, he asked if we were going to have a picnic.
Now you want a picnic?
He then said he wanted to go to Chatauqua (my favorite spot in Boulder, pictured above), calling it by name.
Okay.
So we picked up sandwiches at Snarf's, and I carried Jonah and lunch up the trail while Isaac did a great job walking.
This is the only picture I got, but the boys LOVED being in this beautiful place and eating our sandwiches outside together. Isaac told me, when he saw the open meadows at the base of the Flatirons, "Mama I'm going to go in there and run aROUND a lot!"
And once he finished lunch, he ran up and down the trail. Effortless energy.
Last time it was pizza on Pearl Street Mall; this time sandwiches at Chatauqua - what fun days with my little guys.
