Aug 11: Sloans Lake Run with the Boys

This summer, I've been training for a 10K. I run alone if I have a babysitter or I can wake up early enough, but many days, I've had to run with both boys, in a double stroller not made for speed or bumps. I'm not that fast, so they are usually stuck in the stroller for 45 minutes to an hour. But they have done so well, hardly complaining a bit. Most days, I take them to Sloans Lake, where the 2.6 miles around the lake is a smooth path. We watch the ducks, the geese, and especially the wakeboarders. They are out every evening around 5pm, and some of them can do some amazing tricks, like flips!
On this Thursday afternoon, the views were stunning. The lake is always a beautiful place to run, with the downtown skyline in one direction and the Rockies spread out to the west, but the clouds were incredible this time. We felt raindrops and then even saw some huge bolts of lightning to the south - but luckily just as we were finishing up.
