One of the presents Isaac asked for this year was a new bike with training wheels. So on a Monday afternoon, Adam came home a little early from work, and we went to the big REI to let Isaac pick out his bike, which was his gift from us.
After dinner, we all took a walk and let him practice. Pedaling was hard at first, and stopping was even harder. We were trying to convince him to back-pedal instead of dropping his feet down when he needed to stop. By the time we got back home, he was starting to catch on.
Isaac told Jonah he could have his old bike. Jonah's feet are finally reaching the pedals, though not well enough to firmly push them yet. But he was excited to have his own bike now too.
We headed for the ice cream shop to celebrate.
