April 17-19, More Charlotte pictures

The one food I requested from my mom while in Charlotte was waffles. Hers are by far the best I've had, and they are some trouble to make. They are so tender and light when they come off the iron, melt-in-your-mouth, incredibly good. Isaac was very happy with them too.

If Isaac sees you sitting on the floor (or sometimes a little chair, like above), he likes to come plop down next to you.

Playing Legos with Ba-Bop but still not letting go of that waffle. It was a perfect way to spend a cool, rainy Sunday morning.

Below, what you can't see is my mom jumping around and quacking every time Isaac makes his little duck quack...

This picture deserves a post all its own...This is why I adore my parents!

Post-waffle trip to the playground. My old elementary school.

My mom showed Isaac how to hoot like an owl, and he wanted to try it over and over.

Afternoon walks every day...Isaac noticed that Harley (big male Golden Retriever) was sniffing every blade of grass, and he thought it looked fun.

Stopping to think...

I love this empty lot. Wish they'd leave it this way. Or get a bunch of neighbors to buy the land together and make a non-profit community garden.

There are a lot of pictures of Isaac rolling in the grass, but it was heavenly for him...Our urban yards are pretty small in Denver. On our Charlotte walks, Isaac ran through every yard, spun circles and fell down happily, then rolled and rolled...So much space.

Showing us how you go night night...

Finally, permission to go ring a doorbell (a favorite activity).

Wildman getting ready for the airport...
