This blog is supposed to be about the kids, but I'm going to make a brief post about us, the parents, to remember a wonderful weekend of surprises Adam planned for us to celebrate 8 years of marriage.
We still can't easily leave the boys, so instead he had the clever idea of creating a weekend away at home. We got babysitters for much of the weekend, including the mornings, so we could stay out later without the usual worries of sleep loss.
The first night was a surprise picnic at a beautiful mountaintop park in Jefferson County. Adam grilled fish and zucchini and brought a bubbly drink to share - natural soda since I couldn't drink at the time.
We don't take much time to ourselves these days, but this was a wonderful mini-vacation.
