On this Saturday morning, we headed to our favorite mountain creek: Lair o the Bear in Morrison. Isaac loves to splash and get soaked, and in his excitement, Jonah practically threw himself in the water too. But the water was higher and faster than I've ever seen it. There were puddles in the parking lot - so rare for July in Colorado - so this summer's rain must have kept the creek swollen. We had to walk a bit to find a calm place to put our feet in.
Isaac has the difference down: You can go in the slow water, but not the fast water. Below is the main part of the creek, which we stayed out of.
Jonah watches his brother with a smile on his face
and then starts pulling me toward the water.
And leaning forward - come on, get your feet wet, Mama!
Ah, that's better!
Isaac approved of Jonah's love of the water.
Jonah eventually got waist-deep. I was holding on so tightly to his wrists...
Wet and headed home for lunch and naps.
So tired...
The scenery as we walk back to the parking lot...beautiful Colorado.
