My mom took this photo of Jane's window on the morning of her wedding. The 3rd floor was always for the kids, and this was always Jane's room. Below, you can see the view out those windows...They have been enlarged since we were kids, but now you can lie in bed and see nothing but sea and sky. Pretty amazing place to sleep.
Jane and friends, wedding morning. They ran a race in Old Orchard Beach. Jane placed 2nd (:

All the girls had hair appointments in town. Here is beautiful Alice, our cousin and a flower girl.

Everyone seemed to think it was hilarious that I had my hair in rollers, so there are many pictures of this moment.

Jane, after getting her hair done.

Playing around in the afternoon, waiting for 5pm.

Isaac and Liam spent much of their free time playing with this dollhouse. Sometimes it involved throwing pieces (Isaac), and I don't know that it was very domestic play, but they loved it. I remember playing with this same dollhouse and many of the same pieces (including the broken ones) as a child.

Really, this dollhouse might have been the highlight of the trip.

Jane in her dress on the 2nd floor

and in the living room:

We all gathered in the living room to wait for the trolley, bridesmaids and flower girls in dresses, Isaac in his tux. Finally, it arrived, and this is what our little boy saw waiting at the edge of the backyard - we get to ride on that?!

We soon arrived down the street at beautiful St. Ann's by the Sea, the church we've all gone to on Sundays in Maine since we were babies, since my mom and her siblings were babies.
You can see me waiting to come next.
Then Taylor, and you can see Isaac starting his walk up the aisle, carrying the beautiful ringbearer's pillow made by one of our dearest family friends, Terri Huntley.
Isaac made it this far and apparently stopped. Too many people looking at him?
What I saw was this: a timid and slightly sheepish Isaac being led up the aisle by the father-of-the-bride, who was carrying the pillow. So my dad got to walk the aisle twice, and the guests seemed to think Isaac was pretty cute anyway.
Last were the flower girls.
After the ceremony:
What a beautiful couple - love this picture!

And what a beautiful spot, out on the little peninsula overlooking a gray Maine ocean.
Isaac, predictably, refused to get in the photo of the wedding party. Instead, he paced in front of the group and grinned at us.

Aren't they adorable?

The girls.

Taylor took good care of Isaac.

Hmm not sure what Taylor is looking at, but I still like the picture. It's rare to have one of the 3 of us.

Leaving the church, headed inland for the reception. There were trolleys to take the guests to the preserve. Isaac rode the trolley with the wedding party, while Adam, Jonah and I drove so we could leave quickly when we needed to.

Reception site...beautiful. A little chilly. Perfect Maine, late-August weather. You can see the photo booth, which was well-used over the course of the party. Such a great idea. And then the bride and groom get a photo guest book.
The details made it even more special...flowers:
Fish in a bowl:
There were some mosquitos, but the kids still loved running around in the grass.

A cell phone shot of Isaac, making a point not to look:

Jonah wanted us to walk him around all night:

First dance. I think they'd been practicing. And if you believe in spirit orbs even a little, look at this photo...and imagine all the loved ones watching over the happy couple.

My dad, never one to get up and dance in front of a crowd, says Isaac saved him. He was doing fine, but Isaac insisted on breaking into the father-daughter dance.

I included this photo because you can see Jonah and me in the background. Since my camera is gone, I'll take any pictures of our little family that I can get.

Later in the evening, the kids started dropping off:

Liam was out, and Isaac and Jonah did the same. For the last hour or so that we were there, Adam and I were dancing and each carrying a sleeping child across our shoulder. The band was amazing, one of the best I've ever seen, but around 10:30 Isaac woke up disoriented, surrounded by pumping bass, party lights, the crowd, and started melting down. We left pretty soon after that.

But we made sure to pick up some dessert for the road. Instead of cake, Jane wanted cupcakes from her favorite New York cupcake bakery. And best of all, there was Big Daddy's ice cream - the best ice cream ever made, which we've been devouring every August on our trips to Maine for as long as we can remember.
The scene as we left...SO much fun. SO hard to leave.
And a few shots of Jane and Greg having a great time at their amazing party:
