The snow was starting to melt down by us, so we tried to hike to the Bald with the boys - Jonah in the backpack, Isaac walking the short but steep distance.
We drove up the road to the beginning of the short trail, and immediately the snow was deeper.
We made it halfway up the trail, but the snow had piled up in the woods, and we really needed snowshoes. I was knee-deep, and Isaac was sinking to his thighs. We hadn't brought snow pants or thick socks for him, and soon chunks of snow started to drop into his boots. He made it pretty far considering the conditions, but soon he got cold and started to complain, and we decided to go home and try again the next day.
After naptime, I took the boys to play outside in the yard while Adam got some work done. Isaac started to like the snow a little better when I made him an armchair and some snowballs. But Jonah - the little marshmellow in his oversized, puffy jacket - was having trouble staying on his feet. So we played a little while and then went inside to the warm fire.
